like many, many people in Texas, I'm having to have my flooded automobile towed abroad. Someone finally showed up with a apartment bed but claimed they wouldn't be able to get the Tesla out of my garage and onto the truck and that they would need a cycle lift truck. Anyone with an idea on how you tow a completely dead Tesla out of a garage? I assume there is no way to exist able to push button it out either.

Yous need to disengage the rear parking restriction.
If your car has the two calipers on the rear you'd need to remove the inside role of information technology and manually back out the park brake to release the wheels. If it is a newer vehicle this may be integrated into the unmarried rear caliper.
Or they tin can merely drag it?

Tesla in a inundation plain:
Buy a swimming pool about 20 feet in diameter with the thickest plastic available. When flood is imminent carefully bulldoze car over the pool and necktie puddle up over the hood and tailgate. Utilise redundant ties and so the thing cannot fall down and let in water. Charge car to xc% SOC. Hook upwardly an electric pump to outset pumping if water level should rise due to unforseen leaks. If the pool is large enough you could tie it higher up the roof allowing the car to actually float on the water. In that case lash the car in place as you would a small gunkhole to a dock in a way that allows it to ascent with the flood.

Yeah, you demand some type of wheel lift truck to drag information technology. But went through it. Call Tesla roadside. Those guys know how to practice it if y'all demand it moved soon. They know how to practise it without dissentious the front terminate too, by using wood planks.

As I've posted before it is easy to drag a ModelS by nylon strapping to each half dozen o'clock spoke on the locked wheels. If all 4 wheels are locked for some odd reason then hook to all 4 wheels @6 o'clock spoke. Allow the straps equalize at the tow signal. You will not hurt the rims or strain the automobile'southward frame if y'all do it this style. On gravel it is like shooting fish in a barrel, on dry out concrete you may scuff some rubber but so what. You tin also place a plastic cafeteria tray under a locked cycle or spread some oil on the contact surface.

When they had separate parking brakes, you could release them with a wrench. I don't know/haven't seen information technology done with the newer integrated calipers. I would hope the same method would work. Seems improve than dragging or with the lilliputian dollies!

If totaled I think you could be a piffling less careful about where to hook up the winch, the postal service near strapping to the rims was skillful and thoughtful merely plainly more than delicate than necessary here.
